Fairies, unicorns and other fantasy figures star in Georges Méliès’s hand-coloured films at the Orion cinema film concert aimed at the whole family. Claiming its rightful place on the programme is a restored version of his legendary A trip to the moon from 1902. What’s more, the event also features a selection of some of this cinematic pioneer’s most inventive and brilliant works from the first decade of the 20th century. The musical score is composed and performed live by Aino Venna, whose 2012 Marlene album thrilled audiences and critics alike.
