King Trilogy

  • The King is dead, long live the King! This three-concert series is an in-depth exploration of the lust for power, autocracy and its consequences. Throwing themselves at the royal theme are early music maestros from the Finnish Baroque Orchestra and edgy and internationally-acclaimed string quartet Meta4. The musicians’ different perspectives and experiences are brought together at a crossroads between the past and the present.

The first concert is dedicated to genuine musical monuments that symbolise the very peak of both Baroque and Classical eras. The second concert focuses on an iconic European power player, Napoleon Bonaparte. In the final instalment, absolute power turns into madness.
